Upcoming Classes

Starting May 2025 Knotty Orchid will be offering drop in classes at Inner Space KC in Downtown Kansas City. There will be two classes back to back on each day available that you can either buy in packages for the series or buy individually. After the first class of a series has completed there will only be drop ins available.

These classes are geared for novice as well as intermediate performers looking to get into burlesque or even just wanting to have some of the rhinestone magic for personal use. Join Knotty as she teaches movement and theatre basics to help you invigorate what you already have inside you -- let Knotty help stoke the fires of your confidence!

Summer drop in classes run from May 18th - June 1st and June 15th - June 29th! Classes start at 1pm and run for one hour each with a class following right behind starting at 2pm.

Isolation of Movement

The Isolation of Movement class will focus one different parts of the body each week in order to understand different dance moves as well as the emotions and character those movements can evoke.

Business Babes

Business Babes series will go over the business side of burlesque. This includes what a Stage Kitten/Stage Hand is and what they do, What a good submission form looks like, and the ins and outs of the theatrical side of burlesque!

Chair & Floor Work

In the Chair & Floor Work series we will be working on how to use the Chair as a prop with some minimal acrobatics tricks added. Plus easy ways to get to and from the floor for more dynamic acts! As with all out movement classes we will strive to make them as accessible as possible to all students, please just let us know if there is an accommodation that needs to be made!

Prop Panache

The Prop Panache series will go over the traditional props of burlesque including fans, boas, and Gloves/Stockings. With these main props you can learn an extended tease for time as well as general techniques that can be translated to other alternative style props!
